Having worked as a primary school teacher since 2006, I am very familiar with the demands of the curriculum and the pressures that teachers are under. I spent much of the last ten years working as a class teacher at a large, multicultural, inner city, Church of England primary school in Bradford. During that time, I was also responsible for co-ordinating both computing and religious education.
Through my experiences in education I have seen first-hand that opportunities for children to be creative and active are essential to their development in so many ways; from communication and interaction to making progress in literacy.
For the past eighteen months I have been working with All Saints Church, Little Horton, Bradford to produce a series of workshops for schools as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund project; Little Horton's Heritage - restored, renewed and revealed for all. Find out more about the sessions available to support the teaching of RE, local history, science and art on the All Saints Learning page.
The overarching aim of Share Your Learning is simple; to provide teachers with ready-made resources and learning experiences that enable them to engage their learners in building up the skills they need as they carry on living and learning.
